Vadodara: The Medical College, Baroda, will begin preparing undergraduate students for the third wave of Covid-19 from Monday so on.
Higher Education has conducted a training program to prepare senior doctors and internships for future waves.
Deep, residents and internships have been at the front line of the battle against Covid-19.
All undergraduate students have been ordered to stay present for the training program that will discuss students of MBBS first year, second and third from Monday to Friday.
Training Program includes Covid-19 Case Clinical Management, Covid Management, Pediatric Care in Third Wave, Oxygen Therapy and Ventilation Management for Adult Patients, Sample Collection and Transportation for Diagnosis, Infection Prevention, and Control, Biomedical Waste Management, Post Covid Rehabilitation and direct training.
“We will provide direct training to students by taking them to all campus iksus for seven days,” said Dr.
Mohua Moitra, Professor of Community Medicine and an epidemic intelligence unit member of the Covid task force formed by the state government to deal with the third wave.
He said that almost everyone began from professors to first year students, nurses for medical officers already had brushes with Covid-19 during the first and second waves.
“But this training program is to bridge the gap in theoretical aspects and direct training in the icus.
For example, how distilled water must be used on oxygen ventilators and cylinders to reduce the risk of black fungi,” he said.
