MySuru: Dawn to Dusk Mysuru City Bandh on Monday to protest the alleged disrespect to Dialit Icon Br Ambedkar received a mixed response.
Commercial companies in the central business district are still closed until 4pm while several colleges and schools have announced holidays.
Bandh’s call was given by Sanvidhana Samrakshana Horata Samiti which was supported by several similar-minded organizations.
Congress activists also participated in bandh.
Bandh aroused a bad response in the morning.

However, after 9 o’clock in the morning, when the agitators started the procession on the main streets of the city, the commercial company in CBD lowered their window leaves.
When roads are blocked, bus services are disrupted, troublesome students.
Agitators gathered in many places including city bus stands, KR circles, suburban bus stands, and blocked the road.
Additional police forces are used to ensure that the agitator will not enter the terminus bus.
Bandh has a small impact in residential areas because the shops and companies remain open.
Bandh led by Jnanaprakash Seer of Urilinga Peddi Mutth, Shantharaju from Dalit Welfare Trust, N Bhaskar of Sanvidhana Samrakshana Horata Samiti.
Congress leaders led by Mla Yathindra Siddaramaiiah and former MLA M Komashekar also took part in the procession.
Memory, including students participating in the bandh voluntarily, said KS Shivaramu activist.
“We called the bandh at 3 pm by considering the interest of commercial companies in the city,” he added.
