Hyderabad: Karimnagar police have arrested the State President of Telangana BJP and MP Bandi Sanjay on charges of attacking civil servants and violations of disaster management laws after thwarting their protests against GO 317 which determined the employee transfer guidelines.
MP and the other four have been sent in 14 days of return on Judicial to Karimnagar District Prison.
Sanjay held Deeeksha’s jataran at the Tabu office in the city of Karimanagar on Sunday, where cadres and party leaders from the entire state of entry for overnight protests.
Citing government orders in the background of the spread of Omicron in the state, the district police sent a notification to local BJP leaders who told them not to regulate any political events.
“BJP leaders ignore the notifications issued by Karimnagar City ACP not to regulate the event, and by not obeying social blasphemy norms, gathering in large quantities in the camp office,” said Commissioner Karimnagar V Satyanarayana.
The Commissioner also accused BJP workers attacking police personnel who were issuing their duties and several police suffered injuries.
“Three policemen, including a police woman, CI and ACP suffered an injury in the attack.
CI suffered a fracture to his finger and ACP suffered bleeding injuries in his hand,” said Commissioner.
Karimnagar City Police II registered two separate cases in connection with protests.
“The cases were registered for violations of MS No.
1 issued by the state government not to regulate any political meeting given the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic and also for MHA violations, the High Court and Supreme Court Guidelines relating to Pandemics,” said commissioner.
The police registered the first case against 21 BJP and other party activists and arrested 70 people under Section 188, 341 of IPC and part 51-B of disaster management laws on Sunday night and released them after serving notifications under the CRPC.
The second case was registered with 16 BJP and other leaders underneath, 188, 332, 333, 149, 147 of IPC, 51-B of disaster management laws.
“We have arrested five people in the second case including MP B Sanjay members.
After the Covid-19 test and medical examination, they were produced before the court.
After the argument, the court sent them to Judicial Detention 14 days.
They shifted to Karimnagar District Prison,” Commissioner said.
