Vadodara: For decades, this city produced several of the best cricket which then played for the Indian team.
But Vadodara, which is considered a cricket talent nursery, rarely gets its presence when it comes to host international cricket matches.
But Barodian will soon be able to watch longer Indian Premier League matches (IPL) directly from the stands with Ahmedabad get the IPL team.
Vadodara also provoked his chances of holding several matches.
“Our new international cricket stadium is being built and has all infrastructure facilities.
We have the opportunity to accommodate IPL games next year,” said Sheetal Mehta, Vice President, Baroda Cricket Association (BCA).
“We cannot hold international matches for a decade due to the lack of cricket stadium.
But now we have our own stadium in Kotambi that matches the best stadium in the country.
The IPL match will make a buzz in the city and bring good income for associations,” said Mehta told toi.
The three-level stadium will have a 30,000 seating capacity including 500 luxury chairs.
It will also have facilities such as swimming pools, indoor practice and gymnasium and stadiums have been designed in such a way that 90 percent of the audience will have clear visibility.
