Mangaluru: Inspector General S Paramesh, Commander, the Coast Guard Region (West) asked the Governor of Karnataka Thaarchand Gehlot and Chief Minister Bukavaraj Bommai in Bengaluru on Thursday.
The regional commander told the governor and chairman of the minister in several aspects of service and provided insight into various developments that were estimated to strengthen the construction of the coastal security of Karnataka.
He gave a briefing about the rescue of 233 valuable lives including carnataka fishermen in various SAR operations during the tauktae cyclone and continuous rain destroying the country.
The preventive measures by Indian coast guards produce no loss of life in the sea in the midst of a typhoon in the Arabian sea several times.
Flag officers asked the Secretary of Head P Ravi Kumar and assess him about various developments in the field of responsibilities and plans imagined to strengthen the maritime domain towards the security of the Karnataka coastline.
During his meeting with the main secretary, various problems related to coast guard facilities, infrastructure, coastal security, fishermen and proposed progress to establish the Academy Coast Guard (ICGAP) project in Mangaluru were discussed.
During interactions with DGP Praveen Sood, CSP’s efforts to improve overall operational efficiency in coastal security construction in the state and embarkation for coastal patrol together discussed.
The Director General recognizes the efforts and support of the state government in strengthening coastal security mechanisms.
During the meeting, regional commanders asked for state support in the overall development of ICG infrastructure that could increase the task charter.
