With fresh Covid cases and high vaccination coverage, most beaches in the Udupi district, including the Padubidri endpoint, have registered a large increase in the legs.

Malpe beach has about five dedicated coast guards other than 30 men who manage water sports activities.
This 30-30 also doubles as a coast guard.
“Coastal Guard Alert and on Sundays three tourists were saved by drowning on Malpe Beach,” he said.
This season, various water games such as jet-ski, banana rides, zorbing, beach kayaks and parasailings have been introduced.
“While Beach Malpe saw a large crowd, the number of visitors to St Mary Island had not taken,” Shetty said.
“Last weekend, the ferry made around six trips (65 passengers each) between the beach and the island.”
