Vadodara: Panic triggers have been suppressed by Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) with water levels at the Ajwa reservoir that runs low.
The availability of water from the reservoir can drain the level in which the supply will be affected if it does not rain.
Data on the Meteorology Department of India (IMD) shows Vadodara has a rainy deficit of 47% this season.
VMC is very dependent on the ajwa reservoir that supplies around 27% of the city water requirements.
A most supply of reservoirs goes to the eastern and south of the city.
After the situation regarding the situation, VMC Mayor Keyur Rokadiya has written a letter to the Minister of State for Narmada, Yogesh Patel, who is also a MLA of the election of Manjalpur in the city.
Rokadiya has asked Patel to ensure the water supply to the Ajwa of the Narmada Project Channel near the reservoir.
“At present, there is enough water in the reservoir.
But it has no rain in the coming days, we may need water Narmada,” Rokadiya said.
The letter requested that the water must be provided at no cost.
VMC executive engineer for the water supply Amrut Makwana said that water pressure from the reservoir gradually fell because the level of receding was due to water withdrawn with gravity.
“In the past, he supplied water to reach 203 feet, but low pressure reduced supply,” he said.
