Kolkata: West Bengal Bengal Head Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday asked officials relating to reviewing the situation Covid-19 as a whole in the state, amid the threat of the third wave of pandemics that might be large.
He asked officials to identify detention zones in the city, where cases have increased.
Banerjee, during a meeting of administrative review on Sagar Island, also said that schools and colleges may be closed for some time if the situation is so demanding.
The office can be asked to function with only 50 percent of employee attendance, if necessary, he said.
“The Covid-19 case is on the rise …
there are some cases of omicrons too.
So, review the situation in the state.
We can consider closing schools and colleges for some time,” Banerjee told officials at the meeting.
CM, who visited the island to take stock arrangements for annual Gangasagar Mela, also said that international flight decisions and local train services will also be taken after the Covid-19 situation in terms of the state.
