Kolkata: Bengaluru FC entered the Durand Cup semi-finals after crawling past Green Green 3-2 in an exciting contest on Saturday.
They face FC Goa in the second semi-final on Wednesday.
Wungngayam Muirang (20th minute), Leon Augustine (47) and Namal Bhutia (74) scored for Bengaluru while Lalllawmkima (9) and Vibin T V (89) found the target for Greens Army.
The Army side created pressure from an early age and they got a prize because Lalllawmima scored from the place in the ninth minute to lead.
However, BFC restored parity through Muirang in the 20th minute when he curled his free kick behind the net, giving Green Saratha’s health guard.
Leon Augustine scored for BFC just a few minutes to the second round.
Namgyal Bhutia made it 3-1 for BFC in the 74th minute to give Breion two comfortable goals.
Unfortunately the Day of Majumdar and Deepak Singh did create opportunities and press Bengaluru’s goal but the Blues defense did well to keep lead to remain intact.
Green Army pulled one back, through another point kick taken by Vibin in the 89th minute but it was late later.
