Anand: A big fire broke out in a building that accommodated a firecrackers in Anand Town on Monday night.
The incident occurred around 16:00 in the complex of Lux Emperia, a building located opposite Anand Nagar Sevasadan and close to the Red Cross Blood Bank in a densely populated area.
API in Godown from Mayur sales, which became a wholesale and retail business of firecrackers, spread not only on the top floor where crackers were stored but also swallowed the entire building and even spread to the adjacent building.
Both buildings consist of three floors each.
Although there were no reports of injury or victims, around seven two-wheeled and one four-wheeled vehicle parked adjacent to the building was damaged while the shops in the same complex and the electronic showroom in the adjacent complex was also damaged.
Fire fighters from Khambhat, Nadiad, Petlad and Vadodara apart from them from Anand rushed to the place to extinguish the fire.
A firefighter received a minor injury on his head when the glass pieces hit him while he tried to extinguish the fire.
The steaming smoke from a burning building can be seen from the distance while the loud voice of the outbreak of firecrackers echoed through the area.

The police also had difficulty spreading crowds of spectators and occupants.
“Fortunately, no one was trapped in the building.
Our first step was to cleanse traffic from the area to make the way for fire tenders.

We close the entire market area to ensure the safety of everyone,” said Ajit King, Anand District District Supervisor.
“Our team asked everyone around him to keep the bucket with water and fire equipment ready.” Rajian said.
