Begusarai: Armed criminals allegedly looting jewelry worth more than Rs 25 lakh from a shop in Bachhwara bazaar under the Bachhwara police station in the district Begusarai on Friday night.
The incident occurred when the shop owner, Shyam Prasad Das, was sleeping inside.
He stated that he woke up around 3am after hearing the sound of the gate behind his shop damaged.
“I rushed to the gate just to know that the five criminals had violated it.
When they saw me, one of them brought me hostages in Gunpoint, tracing me, and even beat me.
Then, they escaped with jewelry worth more than Rs.

The incident sparked anger among traders at Bachhwara Bazar, who closed their shops on Saturday as a protest.
Teghra Sdpo Om Prakash told this reporter that the police tried to identify the gang.

According to sources, jewelry has been targeted by criminals in the district for the past few months.
Only a month ago, criminals steal jewelry worth more than Rs 50 Lakh from Kapileshwar Mandal’s house, a jewelry in the main road area of Begusarai.
However, the police then claimed to have solved this case by arresting four gang members and recovering some of the booty looted.
