Patna: Some long-range trains were delayed on Tuesday as a solid fog enveloped the Tundla-Kanpur-Prayagraj route and the main stretch of PT Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Jonja-Buxar-Jhajha.
According to the source of the Danapur control room, the New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Terminal Rajdhani Express (12310) reached Patna Junction 40 minutes behind the temporary schedule of Sampoorna Kranti Express (12394) reached 35 minutes late at Patna Junction.
Similarly, Shramjeevi Express (12392) was postponed by 60 minutes while Magadh Express (12082) reached Patna Junction about 40 minutes late, said the source.
Poorva Express (12304) was also postponed by 40 minutes while New Delhi-Guwahati Rajdhani Express (12424) was 90 minutes late in Danapur because of the bad visibility on the track.
The misty weather also postponed New Delhi-Bhagalpur Vikramshila Express (12368) up to 70 minutes at Patna Junction.
Given the valid misty weather conditions, the train has mobilized a mist signal in all places that are vulnerable to the Danapur Division to prevent unwanted accidents on tracks because of poor visibility.
The detonator (fog signal) is being used where visibility on a bad track, said the source, adding the Loco pilot has been given a portable fog safety device to get a signal warning message.
