Biker Dies, Pillion Carrier was injured in Mishap

Kolkata: A 23-year-old man was killed and a 22-year-old woman was injured critically when their motorcycle ride slipped from the road and crashed into a concrete slab in Kolkata on Sunday, police said.
The incident took place near the Chingrighata Crossing at the East Metropolitan bypass at the beginning of the day when the duo traveled from Ruby Crossing towards North Kolkata, a police officer said.
The man, who rode a motorcycle at high speed, died on the spot; While Pillion-Rider was treated at the nearest private hospital, where his condition remained critical, he said.
His body was defective by the severe impact of the accident, while the motorcycle was destroyed to the Pragati Maidan police station and will undergo a forensic test, the officer added.
