Vadodara: The 75th Independence Day celebration will also mark the beginning of the celebration throughout the year from the 150-year anniversary of Aurobindo Ghose, one of the largest philosophers and nationalists in the country, which has close bonds with the city.
Ghose was born on August 15, 1872 in Kolkata.
A better part of his education occurred in England when his father moved there for a better future for His children.
While the family wants Ghose to join Indian civil service, he is said to not like the idea and ensure that he does not meet the requirements.
It was during this phase that he met Maharaja Ijairo Gaekwad and joined Baroda State’s service in 1893.
He lived in Vadodara for 13 years where he began working as an official in the State Administration of Baroda, but then made a professor and finally, and finally , Deputy Principal of Baroda College.
During the agitation of the Bengal partition in 1905, Ghose began visiting Bengal and finally shifted there in 1906.
Ghose, who used to live in the ‘Bungalow number 10’ which is located right across the lakdi at one time point, has been renamed as ‘Arvind ashram’ now as Ghose remains there for five years.
During this year, Ashram will hold a series of events that start meditation sessions on Sundays.
Three dramas have also been planned for this year, said Deputy Chairman of the Warning Warning Shri Aurobindo, Narendra Patel.
Another center in the state will also hold similar events.
Ashram in Vadodara will coordinate efforts throughout the state.
