Kolhapur: Bison seen in the Kadamwadi-Bhosalewadi area in the city on Wednesday morning again looks early on Thursday.
Guided by the Department of Forest officials, Bison finally returned to his habitat near Hill Valtai in the Panhala area in the afternoon.
While the animal was crossed from Vadere to Ambewadi Village, officials guided him across the highway on Jalan Raya Kolhapur-Ratnagiri.
It resulted in traffic stopped on the highway for about half an hour.
Karveer Range Forest Officer Ramesh Kambun, “At 3am on Thursday, the bison was seen on the SP Office Chowk from where he traveled through the streets of the city carrying Piti GanPati Chowk, RTO Office, Vivekanand College, Nagala Park, Collector’s office, CPR Chowk Hospital, CPR and again to the farm near the entrance of Siddharthnagar.
“Kambu said, this is the same bison seen in the Kadamwadi-Bhosalewadi area on Wednesday.
There has been no trace of bison involved in the death of 21-year-old villagers in Bhuywadi.
“Santosh Walvekar, a veterinarian with the Ministry of Forestry, said,” After crossing the Panchaga River, Bison reached the village area of Vadange at 7 am and lived in sugar cane farming.
At 1pm, it came out and crossed the highway State of Kolhapur-Ratnagiri.
“The Ministry of Forestry, Police, wildlife rescue team, district disaster management team and fire department officials helped guide Bison back to his habitat.
