Religious: When the President of BJD and Chairman of the Minister of Naveen Patnaik moved away from the campaign for the election of the three-level Panchayat this year, the ruling party binded by Ollywood star to Woo rustic voters in Ganjam and Gajapati.
The campaign for the first phase poll, which will be held on Wednesday, ended on Monday night.
Stars Poonam Mishra, Tamanna, Debasish and Bibhuti Panda campaigned for BJD candidates in the polymery.
The artist also campaigned for a party candidate in power in the Kukudakhandi block.
Cine Stars, along with the MLA Srikant Shuu and Zilla Parishad candidate, held a general meeting in various Panchayats in the polymeric block on Sunday.
The mass rally involving the stage artistes was carried out by BJD in Lochapada and Nimakhandi and other Panchayats under the Kukudakhandi block.
Some BJD leaders, including Ganjam District President Ganjam Ramesh Chandra Choupatnik, mixed with Mla Bikram Panda and women’s leaders joining the rally.
About 20 artistes from Bhubaneswar conducted a road dance across the Gajapati district dominated by tribes.
“Through their appearance, the artist spreads a message of various development work carried out by the Naveen Patnik government.
They also appealed to voters to vote for BJD candidates,” said Pradeep Nayak, President Unit Gajapati BJD.
Previously Pinki Pradhan, which was not successfully contested in the assembly election on BJP tickets from being used in the Ganjam district, campaigned for his party candidate in Sanakhemundi Block.in Ganjam District, all Panchayats in five blocks – Hinjili, Rangelatunda, and Polyaara – will go to the polls on Wednesday.
