Palanpur: Police in Banaskantha have registered two people and hold them after the video shown by the BJP Parmbatbhai Patel video in a compromise position with a woman becomes viral on social media even when members of parliament claim the clip is doctorsed, said an official Wednesday.
Fir that was submitted on Tuesday at the Tharad Police Station from Banakaitha Regency with a complaint given by the son of parliamentary members, Shailesh Patel, said police deputy supervisor P H Chaudhary, added a branch of local crime (LCB) who investigated cases.
Parbatbhai Patel (72), The Lok Sabha MP from Banaskantha, denied the mistake and claimed the video was doctors and his face was superimposed to the person seen in the clip, while his family accused the conspiracy to extort money and defame.
“In his complaint, Shailesh Patel had alleged that the video edited by his father was made viral on social media by both accused – Magha Patel and Mukesh Rajput (both were detained) as part of the previous planned conspiracy.
We have submitted a branker under section 389 (extortion) , 500 (slander), IPC criminal conspiracy (120-b) and under the relevant section of the IT Law, “he said.
The evidence collected so far showed a conspiracy to slander the MP image and extort money from him through the video, Dysp said.
According to Chaudhary, Magha Patel previously threatened on the Facebook page of MP members that he would “publish the Video of the Top Banesttha politician on August 15”.
Then on Tuesday, the same video, it was said that it featured Parmbatbhai Patel, shared in the WhatsApp group by Mukesh Rajput, he said.
He added that the video will be sent for forensic analysis to determine its authenticity.
Shailesh Patel told reporters that the video was used to slander his father and extorted money.
“Magha Patel has threatened to release a video for some time.
This is an edited video that is only made to slander my father,” Shailesh Patel said.
