Rajkot: A BJP worker was booked on Wednesday for allegedly raping a 45-year-old woman in Thordi village in Savarkundla Taluka from Amreli with promising assistance for families affected by hurricanes.
According to rural police Savarkundla, Pressur Vekaria, a Thord village resident in Savarkundla was accused of raping the woman in her complaint, the woman stated that the Vekaria came to her house on August 2 at 8:30 a.m.
when she was alone.
“He told me that he would help us in government compensation for the damage to the house and agriculture during the cyclone.
He then pushed me on the couch and suspected of raping me,” the woman accused her complaint.
He further stated that he was afraid after the incident and told his three sons who worked in a different city.
Then, he filed a complaint against the Vekaria with the police on Tuesday night.
