Muzaffarnagar: National President of Bhartiya Kisan (BKU) Naresh Tikait has asked BJP workers not to visit Uttar Pradesh rural areas, said farmers were angry at the violence that broke out in Lakhimpur Kheri on Sunday.
Overcoming Kisis Panchayat at BKU headquarters at Sisoli on Sunday night, he alleged that BJP tried to defame farmers agitation by provoking violence.
He asked BJP workers not to visit rural areas to avoid unwanted incidents.
The statement took place after eight people were killed on Sunday when violence erupted during the farmer’s protest, claiming the life of farmers and BJP workers ahead of the visit to Lakhimpur by Deputy Minister of Chief Keshav Prasad.
Four of deaths are people in the car, it seems to be part of the BJP worker convoy that comes to welcome the minister.
They allegedly hit by death.
The other four are farmers, officials said.
The farmer leaders claimed that the son of the Minister of Ashsish Mishra was in one of the cars they accused to knock down several protesters who opposed the visit of the Deputy CM.
However, Ajay Mishra said he and his son was not present at that place as a suspicion by several farmer leaders and he had proof of photos and videos to prove it.
Meanwhile, BKU IRATE workers held Dharna against the Lakhimpur Kheri incident on Sunday night and blocked the road in the Shamli district.
The protesters submitted a memorandum to the Shamli District Judge demanded action against Ashsies Mishra.
