WASHINGTON: United States Secretary Antony Blinken will meet the Minister of India’s external affairs Jaisankar, along with Australian and Japanese Foreign Minister, during the fourth quadrilateral security dialog that will be held in Melbourne next week.
Blinken will travel to Australia, Fiji and Hawaii to engage with allies and Indo Pacific partners to advance peace, resilience, and prosperity throughout the region and show that this partnership provides.
Blinken will attend the meeting of the fourth foreign minister during his stay in Australia from 9 to 12 February.
The minister’s meeting will be held by Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne.
“With our Quad partners, we provide results for our population and our territory, including by advancing cooperation in delivery of Covid-19 vaccination, humanitarian assistance / disaster assistance, maritime security, counter-terrorism, cybersecation, climate change, climate change, change Climate, climate change, climate change, and critical and technology that arise, “said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement.
Blinken is scheduled to meet with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Minister of Foreign Affairs Payne, Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi, Minister of India’s external affairs Jaisankar and other senior officials to discuss various bilateral and global priorities.
The Quad Foreign Minister’s meeting is expected to be held in Melbourne.
The last Quad Foreign Minister’s meeting was held virtually in February 2021.
Spokesman for the External Affairs Arinindam Bagchi on Thursday has confirmed the next meeting is expected to be held this month in Melbourne.
“We hope to share updates about this,” Bagchi said on a virtual weekly media briefing.
