Vadodara: Two weeks after he was ordered to rape a 24-year-old girl, the police failed to track Accountants Chartered Ashok Jain.
He had run since September 20 and several attempts to track it by the police did not produce any results.
The police said that a team was sent to Rajasthan.
“We have worked on some inputs and teams at Rajasthan to track Jain,” said D S chau, ACP (Crime) which is part of a special (sitting) investigation team that oversees this case.
Chauhan said that they also tried to track Alpu Sindhi who was a witness in the case of rape.
“It is important to get a statement in this case,” Chauhan added.
Jain and Raju Bhatt were booked on September 19 for raping the girl who was practicing at the Fore CA firm.
Bhatt was arrested by the police a few days ago from Junagadh and he was currently detention of the police.
The researchers also asked Taher Piplodwala, a resident of Godhra, whose name appeared in the girl’s diary.
The police said that the girl met with Taher during a train trip two years ago and she had recorded her name and his address at that time.
“Taher said that he had called him several times but they had never met,” the police said.
