The Bhiwandi crime branch unit from Police Thane arrested three people and grabbed a large number of explosions and detonators from Bhiwandi.
The crime team seized 1000 detonators and 1000 gelatin sticks.
The investigator said that Gelatin sticks packed in five boxes each had 200 stems.
Laxmikant Patil, the DCP Thane crime branch said after receiving information about a large number of explosives transported in a vehicle in Bhiwandi, the Bhiwandi unit team led by the Senior Police Inspector Sachin Gaikwad LED Trap near Nadi Naka in Bhiwandi and captured Echo Maruti’s car and caught accused.
The defendant who was arrested was identified as Alpesh Patil, 34, Pankaj Chavan, 23 and Samir Veda, 27.
The three were residents of Palghar Regency.
The investigator found that the defendant illegally carried explosives without permission.
The case has been registered against the trio accused in Section 286 (negligent behavior in connection with explosive substances) of the Criminal Code and Section 5 India (punishment to make or have explosives in a suspicious state) from the 1908 explosion law.
