Patna: The Brass-Made Gnomon (Shadow Casting Object) from a 150-year-old Sundial installed on Jalan Anicut on Dehra On-Sone in Rohtas District was stolen from the stone pedestal on Tuesday night.
When people went to walk early on Wednesday, they found a metal plate of sunlocks, known popular ‘Dhoop Ghadi’, lost and broken stones.
“Prima facie, thieves seem to have tried to extract metal plates from stone.
But when they failed, they cut metal, leaving a small portion with stones,” Sub-Inspector of Dehri Police Station, Vikas Kumar Singh, told Toi.
He added: “The police have examined the CCTV camera backup of the area.
