Vadodara: Do you have a pet dog or like to feed wild dogs? Well, then you commit a violation if you don’t use your pet dog regularly or feed wild dogs near the residence.
Likewise, members of the Welfare Association of Residents cannot prohibit maintaining pets or feeding wild animals inside or outside the gated complex.
These are some of the few laws and guidelines about dealing with animals in this country.
While there are more, a lawyer based in the city, who is a lover of animals, has compiled laws, regulations, guidelines, assessments given by various courts in this country in the form of books for reference to animals and rights and protection animal.
“There is so much data and confusion that applies in the minds of people when I meet them.
So, I try to compile anything that is possible and I’m sure there are many still left,” said lawyer Jaideep Verma, who jointly wrote a book ‘ animals and laws’ with Ritika Modee.
This book was released last week in New Delhi by MP Manaka Gandhi, who is also an animal rights activist and an environmental lover.
“This book is not a one-stop legal opinion, but has interesting things and acts as a guide for someone who has empathy for animals,” Verma said.
This book mentions various laws such as prevention of cruelty towards the animal law, animal birth control rules, breeding regulations and dog marketing, regulates animal registration, wildlife protection law, arrest of animal regulations, guidelines issued by UGC for experiments in zoology Life knowledge.
The book not only talks about laws and regulations, but also has attractive trivia dealing with pet shops, animal insurance, adoption or purchases of dogs, temples where animals are worshiped among other things.
