New Delhi: BRICS has adopted a counter-terrorism action plan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday while leading the virtual peak of five countries’ groupings.
The Summit, organized by India, was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, China’s President XI Jinping, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and Jair Bolsanaro.
Brics (Brazil-Russian-India-South Africa) brings together the five largest developing countries in the world, representing 41 percent of the global population, 24 percent of Global GDP and 16 percent of global trade.
In his opening comments, Modi said India had received full cooperation from all BRICS partners during his leadership and included various grouping achievements.
“Today we are an influential voice for developing countries in the world.
This platform is also useful for focusing attention to the priority of developing countries as well,” he said.
BRICS has created strong institutions such as new development banks, contingency backup settings and energy research work platforms, modi noted.
“These are all very strong institutions,” he added.
“However, it is also important that we are not too satisfied and we must ensure that BRICS is even more oriented to the results in the next 15 years,” he said.
The Prime Minister said grouping had reached several “first” and referred to the first recent Digital Brics Summit meeting.
“This is an innovative step to improve health access with technology assistance.
In November, our water resources will meet for the first time under the format of BRICS.

Highlighting the main role that can be played by BRICS countries in post-covid global recovery, the Prime Minister calls for Brics’s collaboration that is enhanced by the motto ‘Build-back resiliently, innovatively, credible and sustainable’.
Eguing these themes, Modi emphasized the need to accelerate ‘rebuild’ by increasing the speed and accessibility of vaccination, creating ‘resilience’ by diversifying Pharma and vaccine production capacity outside the world developed, and fostering ‘innovation’ using digital tools creatively For public goodness.
He also talked about ensuring multilateral institutional reforms to increase their credibility and promote sustainable development by articulating general briates on environmental and climate issues.
“Leaders also discuss important regional and global issues, including recent developments in Afghanistan,” PMO said.
