The British police said on Sunday they had arrested a man because of being suspected of rape and attack, hours after Manchester United suspended footballer Mason Greenwood followed the online charges that the 20-year-old child had attacked a woman.
The larger Manchester police said in a statement that a man was arrested after social media images and videos posted by a woman who reported the incident of physical violence.
“Investigations were launched and followed the question, we could confirm a man in his 20s since it was arrested for suspected rape and attack,” the police said.
The man, who was not named but was illustrated at the age of 20, was arrested because he was questioned, added the police.
Allegations against Greenwood, including video, photos and voice records, posted on Instagram on Sunday morning and then removed.
“Mason Greenwood will not return to training or play matches until further notice,” United said in a statement to Reuters.
The club previously said that they “did not forgive violence in any form”.
Greenwood has six goals and two assists in 24 matches in all competitions for United this season.
He began his career at United’s academy and had played once for the England national team.
