Vadodara: Brother of Salim Yusuf Zarda, a convict in 2002 Sabarmati Express Carnage, has been booked to forge documents to make it parole.
Vadodara’s central prison official filed firmly against Salim Ayub and the city police commissioner who transferred the investigation of the case to Crime Branch on Wednesday.
Salim, one of the main conspirators at Godhra Train Carnage, was punished by a special court in 2011 and he was currently nesting in Vadodara prison.
According to the complaint submitted by the NP Rathod, a prison official, Salim, who had been punished by a life imprisonment, was given a parole of 21 days without police escort by the Gujarat High Court June 16.
The court has ordered to deposit ONE LAKH Hospital and a certificate of solvency with the same amount as two people within 15 days as a condition for parole.
Job appeared in prison on June 30 and produced two Certificates of Solvency Vasava and Iqbal Belim to get parole for Salim.
When prison officials asked for the original Vasava and Belim Aadhar card, Job said that the identity card was stored at the gate along with his cellphone.
He went to get an identity card but never returned.
Suspicious prison officials as certificates of each Rs 15 Lakh and Rs 10 Lakh are not required by RS One Lakh.
The certificate was sent to the Mamlatdar office in Godhra for verification and prison officials were told that they were fake.
Prison Authority also submitted a report on false documents to the Gujarat High Court on July 2.
“We will form a team on Thursday for NAB Job which is a resident of Godhra,” said a crime branch official.
In 2014, Salim had jumped over the parole for the 15 days he got for home renovation work.
