New Delhi: The leader of the Ghulam Nabi Azad Congress welcomed the Padma award which was announced for him by the Modi Government, but Congress reacted with anxiety for honor, with party members publicly celebrating the Veteran CPM decision and former Bengal Bengal Birtacharjee’s head to reject the award was given to him.
Asked about his reaction to awards, Azad told TII, “It is an honor provided in the constitution, it is better to be recognized for a person’s public service even by the government on the other.” The former opposition leader at Rajya Sabha also thanked the colleague and the MP Shashi Tharoor party to praise him at the award.
Azad is a leading face of the Disson G-23 group.
Significantly, Anand Sharma, the other figure of the G-23 and deputy leader of the party at Rajya Sabha, welcomed the honor for the former J & K cm.
“Congratulations to Azad for very feasible recognition for its invaluable contribution to public services and parliamentary democracy,” he said.
However, other people at the party seemed different.
Marking news reports about “no” Bhattacharjee for awards, the Chief of the Whip Congress at Rajya Sabha Jairam Ramesh Sarcastically Tweeted, “The right thing to do.
He wants to be azad, not a ghulam.” The game word on behalf of the Azad Congress leader is difficult to miss, inside what is seen as excavation.
Azad enjoyed a special relationship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi who broke down while preaching him when the last term in Rajya Sabha ended.
Ramesh’s reaction was seen as wide as the cold shoulder of the Congress to the Padma award for his senior leader, with many who expressed expectations from Azad to follow Bhattacharjee’s signal and reject the expanded recognition by the BJP government.
Azad seems uninterrupted by the controversy and speculation scotched that he has removed his congressional affiliation from his Twitter profile.
“Some naughty propaganda was circulated by several people to create confusion.
Nothing was deleted or added to my Twitter profile.
His profile as before,” he tweeted.
