Lucknow: Construction of 63km Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway moved further steps on Tuesday with the union government that provided the provisions of Rs 1,935 Crore for an annual project for 2022-23.
Minister of Union Road Transport Highways & Shipping, Nitin Gadkari, has been on December 30, 2021, approving the amount for the toll road, where the budget has placed its seal.
The toll road, which will be built by the Indian National Highway Authority (NHAI), will reduce travel time between two cities from two hours to 50 minutes.
Nhai officials said the part 13 km from the six lane toll road from the Amusi Airport to Bani near Unnao will be elevated the road.
Linkway will join six flyers, the train over the bridge, 38 underpasses and three main bridges while passing 11 Lucknow villages and 30 Unnao.
Construction work is now expected to start from April.
NHAI project manager NN Giri said, “The tender to employ contractors has begun and around 70% of land acquisition work has been carried out.
This project will take around two years to complete it.”
