Bengaluru: The police saved a 30-year-old civil engineer in 12 hours from his kidnapping and arrested six people, including two contractors.
SUV, gold bracelet and two gold rings recovered from criminals.
The victim was Manas Kumar, a resident of Amrutahalli and from Odisha.
Last year, he had taken a contract to build a private apartment in Banaswadi and provided a sub-contract for the Foundation’s work to V Nandagopal, 31, from Kr Puram and S Suneel, 32, from KGF in KR.
The police said the work was finished and Manas paid them around Rs 50 Lakh, holding the balance of RS 3 Lakh quoted poor quality.
“The two contractors repeatedly asked him to pay the rest, but Manas said their work was bad,” said a police officer.
Nandagopal and Suneel hatched plans to kidnap and rob Manas and rang four other people who worked as supervisors with them.
Around 9:30 a.m.
on Wednesday, Manas was kidnapped from near the fuel station in Yelakeka.
Because Manas was kidnapped in public view, the police were told by eyewitnesses.
Using the Description of Manas Vehicle and scan CCTV recording, the police track them.
“Before 9pm, we traced them to Bangarpet, saved Manas, a suspect who was arrested,” said an officer.
“The accusation has defeated him and demanded Rs 30 lakh for his release.
They have taken the old ornaments of his G.”
