Coimbatore: Bikta up to 13 empty posts in local bodies including members of the Panchayat district of the district, President Panchayat and members of the Ward Panchayat Village will be held on Saturday.
There are 228 Panchayats and 12 Panchayat unions in the district.
A total of 17 Panchayat Ward members of the 10 Aadmk members, five DMK and two BJP were selected in 2019.
Aiadmk Amul Kandasamy, who was elected from Panchayat Ward Number 3 (Annur Panchayat Union), resigned a few months ago successfully contest in assembly elections from Valparai.
Two Panchayats President Post in Divansapudur Village Panchayat in Animalai Panchayat Union and Thekumarapalayam Village Panchayat in Polychi South Panchayat Union fell empty after the President died.
The commissioner of the State Election initially announced the election to the 16th post.
After three ward members in the village of J Krishnapuram Panchayat (Environmental Number 6), Jallipatti Panchayat Village (Number Land 8) and the village of Zaminmuthur Panchayat (number 6) was chosen uninstalled, the election would be made for 13 posts.
The State Election Commission official has identified five vulnerable and 29 pollic booths as critical.
“We will videograph the voting process at 19 polling stations.
Fifteen micro-observers have been appointed.
A total of 740 staff will be deployed for work by work,” said an official.
More than 70,000 voters will use their franchise using ballots.
