Vadodara: Chartered Accountant Ashok Jain, who was accused of raping a private university law student, passed potential test on Saturday.
Jain, who was arrested from Palitana, was taken to Ahmedabad’s civil hospital on Saturday morning after he failed in a potential test in Vadodara on Friday.
Police officers said that because of scare or nervous one might fail in potential testing.
“However, this test was successful in Ahmedabad on Saturday and cement samples have also been collected,” said the Assistant Commissioner D Sair.
After returning from Ahmedabad, Jain was taken to the Helly Green House in Vasna, where the alleged crime occurred.
After the reconstruction of the crime scene, Jain was taken to the NISARG Building in Diwalipura, where law students used to live in rented apartments.
“The defendant said that he did not realize the spy cameras installed in the complainant rental house and also did not know how the photo was arrested,” said a police officer.
On Sunday, the police team will take Jain to Lonavala and Goa.
Jain admitted that when he ran, he went to Lonavala and Goa.
“We will take him to places where he lives and will investigate whether someone helped him there,” said the police official.
Meanwhile on Saturday, the Bootlegger Alpesh Waghwani statement alias Alpu Sindhi was also taken.
The police said that Sindhi was an important witness while people who were close to Jain had alleged that the whole case was a conspiracy cooked by Sindhi.
The police source said that Sindhi claimed to have helped legal students.
He said that because he was sought in the case of a ban registered at the Warisia and Varnama police station, he had run.
“He said that he was afraid of being arrested, so he did not accompany the complainant when registering a violation and instead sent his people,” said the source.
