Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada SP Rishikesh Sonange said that cases were studied at length, before approval was given to submit a ‘B’ report to the court.
During the SC complaint meeting and complaint held at the SPS office on Friday, the Dalita Hakkugala Convention Samian Samiti Shekar Laila said the ‘B’ report was being submitted in many cases of cruelty in Dalit, because they were unable to challenge decisions.
Other activists said that the police did not get approval from SC district, St Grieves Cell before submitting a report.
Activists claimed that the police were bribed because they submitted a ‘B’ case report.
In in some cases the ‘B’ report was submitted, and it was done after the approval of the Inspector General of Police (West Range).
SP said that following detailed supervision by him, the file went to IGP (West Range) Devajyoti Ray, who also examined the case carefully, before giving approval.
“There are no questions to take bribes to submit a ‘B’ report,” he said.
