Coimbatore: Police CB-Cid Coimbatore gets a 5-day prisoner from Sri Lanka Underworld Don Angoda Lokka’s Close Aide Chanuka Thanayaka and Gopalakrishnan which provides a shelter for Thanayaka in Bengaluru.
Deputy Supervisor of Police P Sivakumar filed a petition before the Court of Justice Judges (CJM) on Monday, looking for police detainees from Thanayaka, Indigenous People of Colombo in Sri Lanka, and Gopalakrishnan, from Bengalakrishnan.
When the petition came to hear on Tuesday afternoon, advocating Malaravan, who represented Sri National and Jayapal, opposed the petition and looked for a court to cancel it.
He argued that Thanayaka and Jayapal were not involved in any case in the state and the police had expelled false cases against them.
After hearing the argument from both parties, Judicial Judge M Sanjeevi Baskar gave a five-day police rights from the Duo and ordered the police to produce him before the court on November 20 before 11:00.
The police said Thanayaka was a close friend of Angoda Lokka and criminals sought in Colombo.
After the death of Angoda Lokka in Coimbatore City on July 3, 2020, Chanuka escaped.
However, CB-cid police tracked it to Bengaluru and arrested him on November 12.
The police came to find out Jayapal helped Chanuka as long as he lived in Bengaluru.Tnn
