PANAJI: The central government is ready to establish agricultural and horticulture colleges in Goa, Minister of Comparative for Agriculture and Welfare of Shobha Karandlaje Farmers.
He was in Goa on a two-day visit.
The Minister also visits ICAR-CCARI and interacts with officials and farmers.
“The government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to expand the assistance needed in establishing agricultural and horticultural colleges in Goa,” Karandlaje Tweeted added that he was happy with the planting of young trees on the ICAR-CCARI campus at Old Goa.
ICAR-CCARI Director Parveen Kumar said that the Institute was ready to offer all possible support to run universities like that.
“Whether college requires faculty to teach or research, we will wholeheartedly support the cave in running agricultural and horticulture colleges,” he said.
ICAR-CCARI currently has 24 scientists, in addition to the director in four departments – natural resource management, plant science, animal science and science fisheries and horticulture.
During his visit, Karandlaje reviewed the work and innovation carried out by the Institute.
He also visited agriculture and livestock units on campus.
Minister of Union Farmers Farmers and Entrepreneurs Darshana Pednekar, who planted 35 plant varieties, run poultry farms and also process coconut oil.
