New Delhi: Bane of Road Digging has not been spared from the Chandni Chowk area which was changed and recently inaugurated.
The pedestrian road and several places on the streets on a 1.3 km stretch connecting the red fort and fatehpuri the mosque has shown a block of this urban blight.
On Monday, Toi saw the path near Moti Cinema digging, while the tiles were lost on the sidewalk opposite the Central Baptist Church and the corner of the Esplanade Road, with some concretisations carried out.
Two more locations in the main square across from Kalan and Fountain Chowk, have been explored before, but have since been repaired.
“Surprisingly, digging being done so fast after the road and the sidewalk was rebuilt after detailed planning among several institutions,” said Sanjay Bhargava, President, Chandni Chowk Vyapar Mandal.
“I have shared information and photos with the agency concerned in WhatsApp.
Our concern is that if digging often repeat, tiles will be removed.
In other words, after a hard attempt to change this place, it will lose sheen quickly.” A PWD official.
Reveal that permission to explore the road is given to the distribution company of power and telephone companies after interference in their services because of errors.
“They tried to solve problems through ordinary holes, without succeeding,” the official said.
“But we will restore the same place and put the same tiles when the job is finished.
But in the future, to avoid extracting roads that are so often, we might take some effort from such utilities.” On Monday, there are PWD workers sweep and collect garbage from public spaces.
Civil defense personnel are upholding the appropriate behavior of Covid, including the prohibition of spit.
