Lucknow: Sixteen Turncoats, including former BJP Government Minister Dara Singh Chauhan, making it the third list of 56 candidates declared by the Samajwadi Party on Thursday.
The party has announced 254 candidates so far while SP Alliance has declared 289 candidates out of 403 – including 33 RLD, and one candidate each from SBSP and RKP.
In the caste matrix, this list has 12 Dalit and OBC 23, including 11 yadav, 12 OBC non-yadav.
This apart, the list also includes 10 Muslims, seven Brahmins and four Thakurs.
Of the 11 non-Yadav OBC, there are three Kurmis, two each from Kushwaha, Nishad and Rajbhar and each of the sub-caste and Nonia pal.
Of the SP, the veteran leader of the opposition in the State Assembly, Ram Gobind Chaudhary, a former Assembly speaker Mata Prasad Pandey, former MP Ramakant Yadav, former minister Arvind Singh Gope and a number of other sitting MLA has been given a ticket.
Vinay Tiwari, Son Strongman sat Hariskankar Tiwari and BSP MLA from Chillupar, who sided with the SP in December 2021 as well, have retained his seat in the list of candidates released on Thursday.
In the third list, the parties have announced candidacy of four of the five segments Gorakhpur constituency in Lok Sabha, leaving the option open to Gorakhpur (urban) where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is in the field.
Dara Singh Chauhan, who is a sitting BJP MLA from Madhuban will be the SP candidate from Ghosi in Mau district – castle clan imprisoned Don Mukhtar Ansari.
After closing confidence BSP chief Mayawati, BSP MLAs sit Ram Achal Rajbhar (Akbarpur) and Lalji Verma (Katehri) were expelled from the party, now would be the SP candidate from each assembly constituency.
Tribhuvan Dutt is the SP candidate from Alapur.
Former BSP MP, he has sided with the SP in 2021.
The other important BSP leader, former MP, Rakesh Pandey is the SP candidate from jalalpur.
His son Ritesh Pandey is a BSP MP sitting.
A similar scenario is likely to appear at Phulpurpawai Azamgarh where the party has fielded timer Ramakant Yadav, his son was sitting BJP MLA from the same constituency and party candidates are likely to be repeated.
Akhilesh has also lowered Kamlakanant Rajbhar, son of five-time BSP MLA from Didargajaj, in Azamgarh and former assembly speaker Sukhdeo Rajbhar late.
He also quit the BSP recently.
Among heavyweights in the party, Gobind Ram Prasad Chaudhary and Mata had been repeated from Bansdih seat (Ballia) their traditional (Siddharth Nagar).
Important among SP MLAs who had been given a ticket is Veteran Party Balram Yadav’s Son Sangram Singh Yadav of Atraulia, Faees Ahmed of Gopalpur, Durga Prasad Yadav from Azamgarh Sadar and Alambadi of Nizamgad – everything from Azamgarh district.
The party also has maintained om Virendra Prakash Singh Yadav and other constituencies and Zamania Jahangirpur.
Party has maintained Mla Shailendra Yadav sat Lallai of Shahganj and Latin Veteran SP Paras Nath Yadav, son Lucky Yadav of Malhani – seats it won in the bypoll necessitated by the death of his father in June 2020.
The names of other important list include Arvind Singh Gope and Mehfooz Kidwai each of Dariyabad and Ram Nagar.
Latin Beni Prasad Verma’s son Rakesh Verma is the party candidate from the Chair.
However, the party leadership has improved the constituency of the three candidates, in which case their seats in the previous election, reported ‘to find some winning combinations’.
Former MLA from Gosainganj, Abhay Singh, has been declared as SP candidate from the seat while former BSP MLA Puja Pal is a party selection of Chail in Kaushambi.
Buddy was the wife of BSP Mla Raju Pal, who was shot dead allegedly by henchmen Atiq Ahmed in broad daylight in 2004.
