Chennai: Tamil Nadu reported a marginal increase in fresh Covid-19 cases on Thursday when the country reported 607 new cases compared to 604 on Wednesday.
The increase in the sharpest infection was reported from Chengalpet, Chennai, Cuddalore, and Ranipet.
Two passengers each from Europe, England, and the US were tested positive for viral infections.
In addition, three people from Andhra and the other two from Bengal who came through the road were also tested positively.
Chennai, who continued to report cases in three digits, had the highest number of new cases on Thursday with 145 new infections.
Eight deaths, meanwhile, took the toll victims to 36,707.
At the end of the day after 689 was opened, there were 6889 patients in the active registry.
Thirty-one district reported zero death.
Meanwhile, 1.8 lakh people took a vaccine on Thursday.
“The Mega Vaccination camp will be held on Sunday (December 26 and January 2, 2022) instead of Saturday for the next two weeks,” said Minister of Health MA Subramanian.
