Patna / Chhapra: Sleuth whose vigilance on Friday raided three places of chhapra prison supervisor Ramadhar Singh and did not dug in disproportionate assets (DA) worth more than 2.50 crores they collected.
Gold biscuits, part of two gold bricks and documents relating to investment in mutual funds and shares are confiscated.
The Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) has registered the DA case against Singh on Thursday.
The raids were carried out at the official residence of Singh in Chhapra, a four-story building in a spoiled style and a flat in the Jakkanpur Patna area.
In accordance with the official statement released by VIB, Rs 19.40 Lakh Cash, more than 1kg of silver and 500 gram gold jewelry worth Rs 29 Lakh recovered from Singh’s place.
Apart from cash, gold and silver, 31 land actions worth RS 1.92 Crore also found.
Sleuth who was alert recovered 24 passbook books that showed a deposit of Rs 30 lakh in the bank and Rs 12 lakh at the post office.
ADG (vigilance) Sunil Kumar Jha said the raid was late at night.
“The value of DA collected by Singh might increase.
At least 40 officials involved in the raids carried out simultaneously in three cities,” he added.
Deputy SP Surendra Kumar Mahauran, who led the attack on Chhapra, said the prison supervisor was not found when he went to Patna.
“The family member was present at home and they were told to work with detective alertness.
Singh joined Chhapra Jail in August this year.
Previously, he was a prison supervisor in Bettiah,” Mahauran added.
