Children are found to work with parents at MM Hills Temple

Written by news2in

Mysuru: Officials from the Public Instruction Department (DPI) who visited the Mahadeshwara (MM) Male Temple in Chamarajanagar on Wednesday found that women who sold incense in the surrounding area were around using their money.
Because it was questioned, parents told the officials that they were afraid of leaving their own children at home so that they were injured accidentally.
Stakeholders have repeatedly expressed concern over children exploited for cheap labor because of the closure of schools that protracted during the pandemic.
A DPI official who visited MM Hills on Wednesday said, “Because there is no school, no midday food, parents bring their children to work, and children work with them.” He argues that sustaining school, and restarting the midday eating scheme is the best solution for the problem of child labor.
Educational Officer Hanur Block Swamy Tr confirmed that officials from DPI visited the temple on Wednesday and warned parents involving their children in work.
“Our officials found about two or three children working with their parents.
The parents are warned that the police complaints will be nested if they continue to press their children to work,” Swamy said, adding that he would visit the area again on the day Thursday.
Members of the Child Welfare Committee MySuru E Dhananjaya connects the increase in the presence of children in the workforce until the closing of the school.
“In fact, many children take to work against their parents’ wishes.
Open school, with all safety steps to prevent the Covid-19 outbreak, is the only solution,” he said.
