LONDON: Children throughout Europe will return to school after 18 months of pandemic disorders.
But in many countries, there are fears of a new surge in infection from a very contagious Delta variant of Coronavirus.
Unlike the United Kingdom, Italy and Spain maintains distance and social masks for students and staff.
Italy also requires teachers to show evidence of vaccination or negative Koronavirus tests recently, along with Turkey and Greece.
In France, where students return to school Thursday, face masks must be worn by students 6 and above.
England, who raised almost all pandemic restrictions on business and socializing in July, had the highest coronavirus level in Europe, with over 30,000 new cases every day.
Inpatient and death remained much lower than the previous surge, thanks to an inoculation campaign that had seen nearly 80% of people above 16 which were fully vaccinated.
