Beijing: China puts the city of four million under locking on Tuesday in an effort to spray the domestic coronavirus surge, with residents saying not to leave home except in an emergency.
Restrictions come when China reported 29 new domestic infections – including six cases in Lanzhou, the capital of Northwest Province Gansu Province.
Officials in Lanzhou said “entries and out of occupants” will be controlled strictly and are limited to important inventory or medical care.
“All types of housing communities are to apply closed management,” said the authorities in a statement.
The latest rules come on the orders of strict residence-in-houses imposed on tens of thousands in northern China, with limited access to tourist sites and residents are advised not to leave the city unless necessary.
China’s latest outbreak has been associated with a contagious Delta variant, with the calculation of the latest spreads exceeding 100 cases over the past week.
Health officials have warned that more infections can emerge as testing increases in the coming days to fight the outbreak, which has been associated with a group of domestic tourists.
