New Delhi: Indian men’s double pair Chirag Shetty and Satwikaraj Ranking has pulled out of the Championship Mixed team Sudirman Cup in the medical field.
Pair No.10 World is part of the 12-member Indian team announced by the Indian Badminton Association for prestigious events that will be held from September 26 to October 3 in Finland.
“Chirag and Satwik have resigned for medical reasons because the first is not good,” said a Sumber Bai to PTI.
“Also uncertain whether they will participate in the Thomas Cup which will be held after the Sudirman Cup.
This will submit to the recovery of the Chirag of the disease.” The nature of the disease cannot be ascertained as answered by Chirag or Satwik.
Thomas and Uber Cups will be held from 9 to 17 October in Aarhus in Denmark.

The Sudirman Cup will be the first BWF tournament to be held this year since the world world was forced to cancel or reschedule a number of events due to Covid-19 pandemic.
In the absence of Chirag and Satwik, Onus will be in the Kapila Dhruv and Mr Arjun, which is the top-ranked double pair in the selection test, to win the Indian men’s doubles in the tournament, which consists of two single and three double in a rubber.
The squad also consists of Kidambi Srikanth, B Sai Praneeth, a double pair of Ashwini Women’s Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy and Youngster like Malvika Bansod, Aditi Bhatt, Tanisha Crasto, Rupa Panda.
The two-year tournament will see the Indian team competing against defending champions China, Thailand and organizing Finland in group A.
