New Delhi: Citroen car maker on Wednesday said he had started shipping C5 aircross SUV houses, his first model on the Indian market.
The company, which is part of a group of stars formed by the combination of two global auto majors FCA and Groupe PSA, is conducting an online order for the model and then directly sends SUVs to customers from the Tiruvallur-based manufacturing plant (near Chennai).

Citroen currently has a showroom across ten cities in this country, including Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi, Kochi, and Gurugram.
For customers outside these cities, he has launched 100 percent direct online purchases for its flagship model.
The company has initiated a home delivery model in 50 locations throughout the country so far.
“Home delivery process now.
We have sent two vehicles in Chandigarh and letters and more on the road,” Head of the Citroen brand (India) Saurabh Vatsa told PTI.
Citroen is about comfort and without doubt, the current condition has accelerated the need for a comfortable experience for customers, he added.
This initiative includes purchases, online trading, finance, insurance, maintenance packages, extended warranty, and registration before shipping, VATSA said.
Car makers have been tied with various partners for sending a step-door vehicle and also to get a car registered in the nearest regional transportation office.
VATS notes that online purchasing initiatives do not compete with physical dealers and are intended to bring incremental sales for the company.
