Coimbatore: City Corporation plans to take advantage of the Puja holiday to vaccinate those matured for their second dose.
The corporation will launch the initiative ‘vaccine on the wheel to identify and vaccinate those who qualify for their second dose.
He plans to achieve cents vaccination senses in the ward or area where only a few people are left for total vaccination by visiting them at their door.
Civic’s body has been speeding on members of civil society and NGOs for logistical support.
The Minister of Health MA Subramanian will inaugurate the initiative on Wednesday.
According to the Department of Health data, less than 2 lakh people have not taken the first dose in the district and most of them are in rural areas.
More than 36% have taken their second dose at the district and city boundaries more covered in the second dose.
A senior official from the corporate health department said that fever surveillance workers had gathered their details due to their second dose in every ward.
The environmental number 54 in Ram Nagar only has 350 strange people left for the second dose.
While most people are expected to be at home for au holiday, it will be easy to vaccinate them, the official said.
Field level staff have begun to collect the details of such people by contacting them by telephone and find out the reasons for delaying vaccination even though they meet the requirements.
“Not including those who have medical reasons, others will be vaccinated in the coming days to find out their availability by reaching out their homes,” said an official from City Corporation.
R Veendran Namma Kovai said that they offered logistical support to regulate the ‘vaccine on the wheel’ because the corporation had planned the entire initiative with their workers.
Instead of focusing on every ward, it was decided to work in the area to achieve 100% vaccination, he said.
