Mangaluru: City Police Receive 47 Calls on the Emergency Response Support System (ESS) 112, and more than 200 calls to the official number of officers, during the drive of consciousness was carried out on Saturday.
City police dedicated everyday for women’s safety and protection through ESS 112 from 8am to 5pm, in an effort to popularize the members, and reach the community, especially women.
All 19 vehicles, Inspector Jeeps, seven highway patrol vehicles, three interceptors, 13 PCRs and two wheels are used as part of the drive.
Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar and 100 officers and staff, including DCP (Law and order) Hariram Shankar and DCP (crime and traffic) B P Dinesh Kumar participated.
Nearly 152 conscious meetings were carried out in women’s hostels, educational institutions and public places.
The average response time is 12 minutes on Saturday.
In some places, demonstrations on how to use ESS 112 were carried out.
Previously during the day, at the Office of the City Police Commissioner, Sprinter India Machettira Raju Poovamma, inaugurated the trip.
He urged people to take advantage of the best facilities, because the initiative will increase trust in women, and some violations can be prevented.
Nearly 34 women rotate number 112.
On average, city police receive around 30-40 calls on ERSS-112 every day.
