City: A 43-year-old woman filed a rape case against the sub-inspector of the Vigyan Nagar police station here on Thursday.
The defendant has been identified as Vijay Singh (55), a resident of Bharatpur.
Singh is currently posted as a Station House Officer (SHO) at the Mahila Police Station, Jhalawar.
Circle Inspector at the Vigyan Nagar Police Station Mahesh Singh, who is also an investigation officer in this case, said the woman filed a rape against Singh.
The defendant has a house in the city, he added.
On contacts, the defendant the cellphone was turned off.
The woman alleged that the defendant had raped him for the past seven years with the pretext of marriage, the circle inspector said adding further rape victims stated that he had come into contact with the defendant in 2014 after he developed a close relationship with him.
