Patna: Bihar cm Nitish Kumar on Wednesday inspects in the Mahana Weir irrigation project located near Katiyari Village under the Sangrampam block from the Munger district.
After inspection, he asked the officials of the Water Resources Department (WRD) to immediately start work for the recovery of the dilaborated irrigation project which was originally built in 1965.
Accompanied by Mulerg MP and not National Rajiv aka Lalan and WRD Secretary Sanjiv Hans, CM spoke to the villagers Local during inspection and ask about irrigation facilities in the area and difficulties.
“I came here to find out about your difficulties.
I will take the steps needed to solve problems related to your irrigation and even other problems,” said Nitish to the villagers who had gathered near the Weir project.
Previously, Secretary WRD provided detailed information about the Mahana Weir Irrigation Project to CM.
While checking the project, Nitish asked WRD officials to build a minor distributor network for waters arriving from the command area so that villagers had comfort in irrigation work.
“Create a water distribution setting that is so good that the maximum number of farmers benefits and people have more convenience in irrigation work.
Farmers from many of the nearest villages will benefit from the recovery of the Mahana Weir project,” CM told the officials.
Nitish further asked the Secretary of the WRD to get the wall protection of repairs, pitching stone and damaged pillars of the WEIR irrigation project.
He also ordered the necessary improvements from the super channel of the belfarwa-mahane link channel and other things.
CM was also ordered to do the work de-siltasi in the WEIR project for more water storage.
Other prominent officials present during the CM visit to the Mahane Project, was the commissioner of Division, Munger, Prem Singh Meena, Secretary of CM Kumar, Munger Range exploring the Sinha Pankaj, Munger DM Navin Sinha and Munger SSP Jagunatharaddi Jalaraddi.
