Patna: More than a month after JD (U) victory in the selection of Ashthan Copper who is prone to flooding in Darbhanga Regency, Chairman of Minister Nith Kumar on Thursday visited the place and launched a scheme related to waterways and widening and reinforcement of the road.
He also ordered the construction of buildings for the Block and Circle Office of Kusheshwar Asthan (East).
CM discusses the ‘Jan Samvad’ meeting held at Kusheshwar Astan after listening to the demands of a group of people relating to the development activities needed for Darbhanga District, including in connection with all the Institute of Indian Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Previously, Nitish examined a sustainable job in the scheme for water drainage from Narila Chaur which was located in the block, besides visiting a kiosk at an exhibition held at the Nand Kishore High School campus in Hirni.
Those who also spoke at Jan Samvad’s meeting was Minister of Education Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Minister of Water Resources Department Sanjay Kumar Jha and Deputy Assembly of Deputy Speaker Maheshwar Hazari.
With regard to the establishment of AIIMS in Darbhanga, CM said the land needed for that purpose was allocated.
He said the existing Darbhanga Medical College hospital would also be expanded.
Nitish asked Darbhanga DM to complete all the flood protection schemes before the rainy season next year.
The four schemes launched by CM on Thursday include widening and strengthening the Rosera-Shakti road 8.40km and the construction of a 4 km embankment as part of the phase 3 of the Bagmati flood management program.
Nitish refers to the work carried out by his government in various fields, including the implementation of the legal prohibition for the interests of the poor and empowerment of women.
He said local demands on the construction of shortcuts and police stations would also be considered.
