Coimbatore: A gang of six members hacked a 22-year-old man to death in full public view in Chinnavedampatti in the city on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Sriram, Putra Vijayan Sampath Street in Rathinapuri.
Gang members, with three motorbikes, chasing Sriram and his friend Kawashkhan on a motorcycle and hacked Sriram at Anjugam Nagar at around 8:30 a.m.
He died on his way to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital.
The gang competition caused Sriram’s death, the police source said.
Police Saravanampatti has registered a case.
